This is a gallery quality art print of my original watercolor painting, "Peace and Light." A loving and humble tribute to the venerable monks and Aloka who walked thousands of miles for peace.
 
The entire creative process to create this painting took close to a hundred hours - to do the research, studies, conceptual designs, discussions, reflections, and inner work.. I went through perhaps a thousand photos trying to discern which is the scene that wants to become the painting. Eventually I received a vision - I "saw" the monks and Aloka travelling in light, carried by light and spreading light. It was such a beautiful vision. Even though the painting would be extremely challenging for me, I decided to be brave and try my best to bring it forward.
 
As I met with difficulty in this process, I would remember the perseverance and courage of the venerable monks, and kept going.
 
This painting is about the venerable monks and Aloka. It is also about Love. It is about ordinary people who step up at difficult times, with courage and perseverance, inspire and restore hope for many. That is extraordinary act of Love.
